The Best of British or what is British food can be linked to many topics including The Beatles! You better believe it Yeh Yeh Yeh! It's almost a roast dinner and even has the popular curried vegetables bringing in discussion of other Countries influence on British Food.
Wonderful session that looks at the rationing in WW2 and how inventive you had to be during the war. Fresh Bread Roll Fresh Lemonade Treat Meat Balls & Gravy with curried root vegetables Rhubarb Bread & Jam Pudding (without the butter or rhubarb!!)
It is worth remembering that there are many other session that may be of interest and help support your subject or topic and that it is an ever evolving list thanks to you.
Caribbean dream cooking colourful and exciting with great reggae music. The children particularly enjoy the Jerk Chicken and the roasted Plantain with tomato sauce. The rice and beans also adds a little more spice!
Medieval, Saxon & Tudor session are similar garnished with flowers and served with barley but making the sausage is particular fun. They also love making the rip and share bread for their banquet.
A very popular session around Chinese New Year. The make their very own spring roll before chopping and discovering just how many vegetables they can eat in their “Pat noodle” or Spring Roll!
So what did they do for us? What didn’t they do it seems when the children explore what the Romans ate. No Dormice on the menu but quite a Roman feast. This session may take a little over the usual 1 hour 15 to 20 minutes as there is so much to it
This is a flexible topic that includes chocolate! Once again supporting your classwork we mix, chop and cook our way to a spicy feast. Wonderful fresh food spiced and served up in an exciting style, prepared by your children.
