Romans
So what did they do for us? Actually lots when in comes to food! In fact what didn’t they do it seems to be the question when the children explore what the Romans ate. No Dormice on the menu but quite a Roman feast is cooked up by the children.
This session may take a little over the usual 1 hour 15 to 20 minutes as there is so much to it including the 1 metre sausage! Our modern Garum (without the fish heads and guts) is used to flavour our sausage and even the Roman mussel.
